It’s easy to keep your products moving across Australia and around the world via our comprehensive air, road, rail, port and pipeline infrastructure including:

  • 6,500km (4,000 miles) of regional rail
  • 21 seaports including speciality mineral, coal and liquefied natural gas (LNG) ports
  • 8 major domestic airports
  • 5 directly connected international airports.

Queensland Resources Common User Facility

The Queensland Government has invested $75 million into a Queensland Resources Common User Facility that will allow businesses to trial production processes for commercialisation, enabling prospective miners to begin producing mineral samples at scale.

The facility will be able to:

  • pilot production processes and research intermediate/end products
  • train staff on equipment, processes and handling hazardous materials
  • produce samples for customers
  • assess potential by-products, waste streams and recyclable materials
  • demonstrate processes at scale to validate commerciality and technical viability to secure finance, investor interest, off-take agreements and partnerships.

CopperString 2032

The CopperString 2032 project is a 1,100km high-voltage electricity transmission line from Townsville to Mount Isa that will connect Queensland’s North West Minerals Province to the national electricity grid, providing energy certainty to the region’s burgeoning critical minerals sector.

The $5 billion investment by Queensland Government will include a 500-kilovolt (kV) line from Townsville to Hughenden to connect the North West Minerals Province to the North Queensland Renewable Energy Zone, the largest renewable energy zone in Australia.

This connection will form an essential part of the new Queensland SuperGrid transmission backbone, to be delivered under the $62 billion Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan.
